Tbh I don’t really want people to talk to me at the gym. And I definitely don’t need people helping me with weights when I haven’t asked for it. That said, there are plenty of other nice things he could have done/said.

I’m not saying it’s the worst thing in the world, and I wasn’t at all rude to him. I just found it slightly ridiculous.

I understand that but in all honesty he probably didn’t really care about helping putting weights back as nice as he meant it to be. It was a way to start a conversation, like how would you suggest people approach you?

And by approach I don’t mean like full of confidence because that just isn’t a realistic expectation from everyone, a few maybe but unless there is some small moment (offering to help) then it passes and the chance has gone, happens more often then you think
