She meandered through the park, then snuck off down an alley. After some time she was out of breath so she stopped. "Must have lost them by now," she thought to herself "I'd better..." But before she could complete the thought, the sound came again. The parade was following her.
Panicking, she looked about. Pushed up against the wall was a skip, and above that a fire escape stairwell that led to the roof. Ahead of her was a wire mesh fence. Tall, but scalable, and there was more path on the other side. In front of her was a sewer hole.
She scrambled up the fence, wincing as her sleeve snagged on the wire.
A few drops of blood marked the wire and the ground beneath her, marking her trail.
