I feel the same. It's my dream to pen a fantasy where at least half the leading cast identifies as female, something that empowers different kinds of femininity: from the physically strong soldier type to the gentler, more diplomatic type. But I don't feel I'm ready yet.

That is why attempting to write them is so important. I do not feel ready, either; but I am still chugging forward in my novel. Most are female protanganists of some sort.

That's a very good point! I think I'm just being held back by my own self-doubt, to be honest; it's something I care about, so I wanna make sure I do it well. But also, I'm not sure what I'm waiting for to happen to make me more ready, so... Good on you. I'll try, too.
