I’d have been tempted to slide into a seat next to them like “Sorry, I’m a games writer and I couldn’t help but overhear” but also that’s a terrible idea because I wouldn’t have been able to keep my cool. They need to stfu unless they’re willing to do it themselves.
Tbf, I was at a party a week or so ago and we started playing one of my favourite games and this dude who’d been shit-talking everything the light touches just started saying how bad the writing was without backing it up and I was so so mad but decided slagging him off was better
