It’s a weird kind of arrogance. That any kind of editing is an intrusion. Usually massive don’t-know-how-it-works naivety or won’t-budge long-in-the-toother.
I’ve always felt that constructive criticism and edits should be welcome. It’s in our interest to improve, after all!
