Do I know anyone who composes, or knows how to compose? I’d love to pick your brains (in the non-zombie/morbid sense) for manuscript research.

Hmm, to me a lot of music notation is more of a descriptor than anything else (Staccato, Lagato, Slur, Slide, Vibrato, etc). Like "As the foot steps came to a cresendo" I feel like actual music would be better to express an intense emotion, but I could be wrong.

If you want to continue looking into something, I would recommend dipping your feet into some Music Theory. There is an obscene amout of content there. Might be helpful for what you are looking for. Like cadences and musical phrases possibly.

Yeah, planning on it :) currently looking at the sheet music for a few different pieces with the same emotions I’d like to communicate; just need the means to understand it all.
