Know what's fun? When companies play into that culture and spend money building an in-house pub. That nobody uses, because they'd still rather go to the one at the end of the road.

Yep. If they're going to build anything on-site, I'd rather it was a gym. And I say that as someone who visits the pub *way* more often than the gym. I've never been in the situation, but a *company pub* feels like a 19th C company town. Might as well pay you in scrip.

Feels like a way to incentivise unpaid overtime, too. Perhaps smart from a monetary perspective (at a glance, anyway), but otherwise... But I agree, something like a gym would be better, though there was already one very closeby. Healthier meals at the canteen, too.
