That's so shitty! I had a similar thing back when I waited tables in uni. I'd booked the day off because I had an assignment in the next day which was 100% of my module. They called me up anyway and told me they'd fire me if I didn't show.

I shouldn't have left so much of it to the last minute, but still... Shitty!
Well it's better than the time I had to admit to my boss (another one, just as shitty but in their own way) that I'd shat myself at work and needed to go home. That was crappy.

Although come to think of it, I did get to angrily storm out of that job after levelling with the CEO/my boss that the whole business model was an exploitative scam. That felt good. Definitely outweighed shitting myself.

It was. I find that whole thing too hilarious to get embarrassed about it. Like, it definitely didn't do anything good for me in the power play, but it was fun watching them squirm when I said it. I was very blunt.
