I doubt the actual statement caused his numbers to go up, but more like the reaction of the Dems conflating it to a confession of sexual assault on live TV. Also I'll be honest, why would any consumer care about things like employee crunches?
We live in a depressing age where bad press boosts success.
“Grab them by the pussy” was thought to increase Trump’s popularity, on the whole.
#RedDeadRedempion2 will probably have knockout sales due in part to our outrage over employee crunch.

Depends on the person to be honest. I definitely care, and I imagine those who’ve experienced it first hand (or have empathy for those who have) would feel strongly. But yeah, on your other point, my intended point was that the publicity the statement made helped him.

I think part of it is that it took all the media focus off of discussion points around the politics. The other candidates and policy's were not covered. Trump was left as the most public figure out of everyone.

The more we attack Trump as a person, the more we take media coverage off of his policies. Now obviously any sexual abuse is completely unacceptable. But I can't help be concerned that our generation will go down as the one that attacked the people instead of the politics.
