Know that way you don't like someone but you know they're struggling and in pain and you're still like "aw, that's a bit shit?" Empathy is a wonderful thing until it literally takes over your life because you're worrying about others forever.
Sometimes you get to a point where you have to cut yourself off from empathising with someone. If all that empathy does is provide them an avenue to carry on hurting you. You have to put your own mental health first. It may not seem like it, but they will be OK.

It’s a credit to you that you care regardless. Sometimes you just have to put a harness around it, though.
