One of the most revelatory moments of my life was when I realised it was OK not to like members of my family. Turns out I wasn’t the first to realise because my mum’s identical twin then disowned me because of my mental health. She wasn’t even the one I disliked...
It’s cool, though. The one I disliked didn’t like me either. He said “Sarah’s hard to like”. Same goes to you, boyo. Maybe stop making me feel like crap about everything in my life every time I see you? Oh and go change the time you slammed a door in my face when I was two.
Real talk... It’s super weird when someone who looks EXACTLY like your mum says they’re having “dark thoughts” about you and that they never wanna hear your name again. Like, I used to call that woman “mum’s number two”. My mum still gets our names mixed up. Super awkward.
