An ex who has been hell-bent on telling lies, manipulating me and intimidating me for close to two years. Realised I'd been staying silent for so long out of fear, even though I don't know what consequences I thought there would be. Plus, fear of abandonment etc.

You don’t need that crap. Can you report him? It sounds like he has some serious issues that shouldn’t be your problem. But your safety (and sanity) comes first.

A warning from the police can do wonders. Really scares them. Not always, but a lot of the time that’s all that needs to happen for them to back off. That’s what I recall being told when a friend of mine was dealing with an aggressive stalker, anyway.
