That’s at least miles better than shoehorning someone in a story, because you just so desperately want to be “multicultural” in a story that isn’t. (I am looking at you troy: fall of a city)
I disagree there. Having studied screenplay adaptation, the first thing you learn is that an adaptation is your own take — an individual entity. Source material often doesn’t fit the new medium; failed adaptations are often the ones that try to force it in vain.
