Yeah maybe unpopular, I would love to know why you would love that though? I don't see it as empowering for BAME people, I feel like 1 of 2 things, either its forcing identitarian politics on people or it's like saying there are no good BAME characters in fiction so change one.
You could also argue that it would be beneficial for communicating the variety of different nations comprised within that world. Adaption never needs to be complete or strict.
