I want to hear your POV because you're a professional writer, how would a BAME Ciri potentially stand to add to the story? I actually liked how (at least in the games) Ciri and Geralt looked so much alike.
I liked that too, actually! Had a bit of Yennefer in her, too, which worked for my own personal Yennefer = canon beliefs ;) But as I said, I believe that a BAME cast would be reflective of the metanarrative. It's an inherently political IP; topics such as racism are explored...
...through things like the Scoia'tael rebellion and Radovid's oppression of non-humans. In the books, Geralt dies protecting non-humans during a racist progrom. It's a big theme in the story, and I believe BAME casting could help live that out :)
That could work out. I think, and this is a preference of mine, but I would've preferred a BAME Yen over Ciri, mainly because I still wanted Geralt and Ciri to look alike. And it would've reflected on the metanarrative just the same I think.
