I feel like so much of my life is spent looking at stuff by people I admire and thinking, “Damn, I can’t do that, why the hell am I even trying?” then levelling with myself like, “Dude, you’re 25, chill out. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll get there in your own time.”

It's a very natural impulse -- took me a long ol' time to tell mine to shush. ^_^ If it helps: the myriad paths into and throughout this industry means there's no 'schedule'. It's a choose-your-own-adventure.
