Every bible story somehow led back to "you'll never be good enough" and "you're worthless without God's love". Like, geez... No wonder I have issues!
Oh, fun addition to the religion thread: we were taught that even thinking negatively of another person is equal to murder in gods eyes. Fun!
I have commited genocide
I'm actually a part of a church, and a huge part of the "not being good enough" is due to the natural instinct to only satisfy the flesh. The Old Testament is really blunt, and harsh. The New Testament (the one about Jeesusss) still points to the fact we will fail without faith.
I think a thing that people truly miss about Jesus is the fact that He was God becoming human. Many people dismiss Jesus not sinning as "Its because he is God" but then why does it tell He didn't sin? Why were one of his departing words were "you will do greater things than I."
