The last thing you want to do is create martyrs, allowing white supremacists to play the victim card and believe that *we* are the bad guys for oppressing *them*. It just legitimises their beliefs and gives them a new edge for recruitment.

Following world war 2 they literally had to walk people into the concentration camps to prove to them it was happening. The mindset defies logic, the only way to solve it is very slow education over generations, and hardline tactics against it when it occasionally gets wayward.
