Men—when you introduce your employee who's a woman and say, "She does all the work"/"runs things"/"keeps us all sane"/etc.: 1-You are not paying her enough. 2-You haven't given her the title or team she deserves. 3-Talking about her contributions doesn't make up for 1 and 2.
I just don't see why we should only talk about the times this happens as a result of sexism. I don't think it's invalid to widen the breadth of this discourse :) Would it still be beside the point if it happened because of race or sexuality?

:/ I don't mean to 'sealion' (had to look that up). I just wanted to contribute and expand the discourse. It seems strange to me that a conversation can't be allowed to evolve. I'm not trying to attack or disagree with anyone here

My point -- which can be different to the OP's point -- is that this is a wider issue than sexism. It can be racist, homophobic, ageist, etc. I don't want to tackle one branch; I want to discover what's at the root and tackle them all. Why are these groups taken advantage of? Etc

It is an important topic and it has to be addressed. SOMEWHERE ELSE
