Debate time! I’m interested in your thoughts, Twitterverse: Is it unethical to own a gambling business in the knowledge that you’ll benefit from people becoming addicted, potentially ripping their lives apart? Go.pic.twitter.com/YX5HwCPUT6
Food an alcohol have deep roots in human tradition and culture dating back thousands of years. They are not made with the intention of being addictive, whereas gambling relies on it simply for the act that the house is only generally profitable over the long haul.

That's not exactly true if you look into the history of food science behind the fast food and junk food industry. Their products are specifically crafted to create a consistent experience that evokes an addiction(ie. Coke's fuzziness, or the way cheetos puffs melts in your mouth)

Fair point!

Seeing as heart disease causes more than a quarter (26 per cent) of all deaths in the UK; that's over 150,000 deaths each year, its vastly more unethical for food scientists to create and provide for an industry that perpetuates this level of death.

So... you DO think it's unethical? ;)
