No it's not unethical. The owner of the gambling business is ethically bound to provide games that aren't complete scams, but in terms of the "life ruining potential" we might as well cancel McDonalds and alcohol because those have a way higher chance of life ruining potential.
This doesn’t entirely refute your argument, but I think fast food is less problematic purely because food itself is a human necessity, and there will always be less healthy options out there. It’s there for (kind of) nourishment/energy.
