Can we please talk about the fact that #writing isn’t valued in the #games industry despite the fact that it can spell the different between an excellent game and a flop?? #NationalWritingDay

Yeah, isn't that terrible? I play most games for the story! Why can't they value what makes those stories amazing?! It is one thing I love about D&D, it greatly rewards imagination and good world building.

100%. Yet a lot of the time I see studios only bring in writers in retrospect, or not bother at all. It’s come up a bunch of times at conferences.

It's definitely upseting. Writing is an amazing skill, and a lot of things (especially games) could use it everywhere. It's one of the things I loved about Alan Wake, Kingdom of Amalur, and The Witcher they were all writer's creations.

Life is Strange, too. Any studio with a writers’ room is though tbh that should be a universal thing for games with any sense of story

Ahh yes, that is on my list to get to! It's definitely a tragedy that it isn't Universal, and one of the reasons I support things like @826National. Special thanks to #CriticalRole for bringing my attention to them!

I'll have to move that up my list. I really hope the lack of writing doesn't stop your passion! I know with RPGs (both tabletop and digital) making a comeback it is definitely something that's should never be underestimated.
