We've seen these numbers elsewhere. They collapse into a minority once you actually start describing what a government plan would entail. Everybody wants single payer. Nobody wants to give up access, quality, speed, choice for it.

As long as the question is not framed in a “would you give up “x” so that either of these could occur...”. then I expect responses will be highly favorable.. Most people like a moral high ground, esp in the abstract.
