Idaho has told insurance plans they can ignore Obamacare — charge sick people more, exclude maternity care. What happens now?https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/1/29/16900948/idaho-health-insurance-voxcare …

I think there’s a really interesting question/Prisoner’s Dilemma around whether Idaho carriers will actually *sell* non-ACA compliant plans. Legal risk is big — but then again, don’t want competitor siphoning off all the good risk.

It's a damn shame, insurance companies are in the profit business, and the more they deny and harm people, the more they profit. Disgusting system.

When states and localities can choose which federal laws to enforce, the rule of law begins to lose meaning. Just like marijuana and immigration law. Many states and liberals cheer the latter. All actions have consequences

When blinders are more like a mask. So intrastate insurance policies shouldn’t be subject to federal law either. Thanks for that. Would ask if ‘sanctuary’ cities aren’t ‘protecting’ from some federal law/authority-what are the ‘sanctuary’ from?

So it would be ok if a new company just in a state sold the policies? And so any company that does any sort of business of any kind or impacts consumers across state lines should be regulated as interstate? Note in CO marijuana sales are to more than people of CO

When you provide the link to where federal law and FDA regs over controlled substances creates a loophole for state based marijuana legalization, I’ll agree with you. When localities and states are directing LEO to not cooperate with federal LEO that is in violation of law.
