What about them? I must have missed the main message.
-
Idaho is offering only
cost plans that are wholly non-compliant w/ A: using med history to set premiums (not authorized under ACA) &
limits on total benefit payouts (which ACA banned). In other words doing exactly what GOP Regime wanted, but couldn’t get passed into law. -
This is beyond disgusting. At what point will the people of America stand together and say we deserve better? Though I’m curious, is part of the problem that everything is at a state level and federal involvement is seen as a bad thing?
-
No. The GOP Regime has moved into near total lawlessness, utterly ignoring any law they don’t like. Unconstitutionally passing laws punitive to all other political parties. Dems would be far smarter to stop talking! To march in protest until GOP resumes compliance with COTUS.
-
This just keeps getting worse. How can these people live with themselves, I just don’t understand it. At a loss :-(
-
Seems they just can’t accept the truth of what’s really happening. Average age of Dem Ledership is 76-Something. Too set in their ways wanting to negotiate everything; force bipartisanism. When the GOP Regime just wants to totally wipe Dems from existence along with COTUS.
-
Wow! That’s crazy, we need experience but we also need fresh blood and ideas. A new perspective that takes into account the way our culture is changing. A true representation of our society.

Where in PA?

Whole state. Insurance coverage for behavioral health with several major plans took a dive last January. When practice inquired, they were told the election changed things. (?!?)
-
Weird! I haven’t heard that yet. I’m guessing it’s with insurers under the exchange/individual coverage? I’m going to look into this. Thanks!
-
Not just exchange plans.. changes to medicine coverages, prior auth requirements, exclusions for speech & OT treatment, ABA services. Huge shifts in self funded plans. Big move from copay to co Insurance w co insurance requirements for services that previously did not have copay
-
That is different from denying people insurance coverage completely/up front.
-
Yes and I would say a more deceptive and destructive practice as well.
-
We educate all of our employer groups when selling those Level Funded/Self Insured types of plans. Not all state mandates are included. Unfortunately, the employer might not consider Autism coverage unless they know someone NEEDS the benefit.

But no one is forced to buy them, right? People without pre-existing conditions might find them more affordable.
-
You don't understand how insurance effing works.
-
Actually, I do and it should be a voluntary purchase made by the individual purchaser. If healthy people want to band together and purchase low cost high deductible insurance they should be allowed to.
-
Insurance works by pooling a bunch of people together, averaging their risk, and charging the average cost. Most people don't end up needing very expensive care, or much care, but for those that *do*, the amount paid by the group covers the costs of it.
-
True insurance is a voluntary purchase, not forced by a government.
-
Uh huh. And it's stupid beliefs like that that makes the US the most expensive place to get healthcare. Every other developed nation has some form of gov-regulated or gov-managed universal care. They spend far less than we do, and have better health outcomes.
-
That’s not true. Look at the UK and Canada.
-
No, Norma. You really need to do better research.
