Do Senators get paid maternity leave? Or do they get no paid leave, like the rest of federal workers?https://twitter.com/HouseInSession/status/955909562497978368 …

Though she should probably do so in the Senate since she works there. ;-)

She should breast-feed wherever she pleases, without any kind of intimidation or issue. If she chooses to breast-feed. But yes, sorry for the unintentional mix-up

I’d be thrilled to see her breastfeed in the Senate (or the House!). I breastfed my three and know how inspiring & reassuring it felt to see women I admired being open & matter of fact about it. And the Senate should reflect the population - incl pregnant working women!

Since staff HR issues are usually decided within indiv offices, I'd assume this is similar. Worth looking into what Reps. Linda Sanchez & Cathy McMorris Rodgers did when they had kids in office

If it's like the House, it's entirely dependent on the office. Each sets its own policy, I believe.

Of course, that's for staff. Would assume that would essentially be the same for the Member him or herself.

With all due respect to Tammy, who is one of the hardest working senators out there and an armed forces veteran, is senator a job one can afford to take 3-6 months off from? Just thinking about the potential for constituents to get adequate representation... your thoughts?
