@SenatorCollins @lisamurkowski @JeffFlake Look at CBO score. I know you're a serious and responsible legislator who will soak in this information. Lot of pressure to give your fellow Rs a "win", but not at this cost and expense to American lives and stability! VOTE NO!! PLEASE!

Please explain. Is the CBO saying that repealing the individual mandate would or would not decrease the number of uninsured. If the latter, wouldn’t everyone have to pay more and thus more folks would not have coverage?

Alexander-Murray alone would decrease uninsured rate (by increasing subsidies). If the individual mandate is repealed, however, there wouldn’t be any decrease. Repeal wipes away all gains from A-M.

This doesn’t make any sense to me unless they mean relative to today with the mandate in place.

I believe all CBO scores are relative to current baseline. So the net effect of A-M + mandate repeal = no reduction in uninsured rate relative to baseline.

CBO is saying specifically that the A-M subsidies won’t really have any impact on people who don’t get insurance because the mandate is repealed. They say “the interactions among (the two) would be small.”

Repeal of the IM will kill the ACA. How do most people not understand how insurance pools work?

Danger is repeal gets through and Alexander Murray doesn’t. Are you listening Susan Collins?
