Any chance you'll explore how other countries deal with medical prices? @RosenthalHealth health has written about how the U.S. is the only developed country that doesn't regulate them. Others have various regs, from what I've read, (either single payer or w/ utilities approach).

Hey! So I pay for Ocare w/a ridiculous deductible & I've figured out that if I pay my premiums & THEN pay cash separately for docs & meds
-
Meaning, I tell doc office that I have NO insurance & that I pay cash it is CHEAPER than paying toward my deductible
-
Of coarse it's cuz I'm healthy...but still
-
I pay for insurance I can't USE & pay CASH when I need to see a doc...crazy
-
Oh! And when I went to the dentist they charged insurance $365 for procedures that cost me $125 in cash
-
This is why WE CAN'T be healthy!

one of you should interview my mother about 1st generation emrs/billing software for hospitals - she created 1 of the first algorithms to

unpack individual fees to get around DRGs automatically, which was one of the factors that created facility fees.
