It doesn't take more than 45 days to understand healthcare plans and select one - you know that too
It's difficult in the marketplace. There are a bunch of plans in some places & folks need to understand how to pick an optimal plan that
Give the best benefits and premium subsidies.
May not take 45 days, but it's possible (bc this population makes <400% FPL) that they don't have the flexibility to get help at any time.
Why does this matter? My mom once told me that just bc something made sense to me, it doesn't mean it's natural to others. Have an open mind
what's the letter of the law here? I remember the OE period getting shorter over time; does the Secretary have some discretion?
Yes, but the reduction to 45d OEP was originally legislated for benefit year 2019.

People may have more time on weekends to review options and enroll, so Price is cutting enrollment time in half for folks who work M-F.
Blacking out Sundays suggests the target demo for their pogrom. Working poor toil 6 days a week to survive. Sunday is their only free time.
