Step back for a moment to remember what a weird moment this is — Senate will only vote for a bill with assurances it *won’t* become law.https://twitter.com/burgessev/status/890646178735554564 …

At GOP lunch, convo focused on whether they can be assured House won't pass skinny, will conference. Senate doesn't want it to become law.

In fairness, a return to pre-2017 conditions: Could vote for countless repeal bills, knowing Obama would never sign them.

The level of irresponsibility in the @SenateGOP is truly astonishing. They are set to pass a bill that they know is garbage.

Sounds like what Ryan was doing in the House -- desperately trying to pass anything, just so he could dump it on the Senate's doorstep.

Once it leaves the Senate it is out of the Senate's control. Guarantees do not exist and don't believe anyone that tells you differently.

New GOP strategy; play hot potato with a placeholder bill until a Democratic is in office and they can go back to passing full repeal bills
