Aetna’s chief executive is surprisingly open to having a single-payer debate — sees biz opportunity in it.https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/5/12/15629716/aetna-ceo-bertolini-single-payer …

Aetna CEO scammed the ACA system & hid its own profitability-in order to gain more profit. He does not deserve a voice at that debate.

That's one reason why the merger with Humana did not go through and judge requested financial records.

About 6 mo. before Aetna's abrupt w/drawl from the Marketplace,I'd read about how he was principled. HA! A PR puff piece about a scammer.

Good, good. Maybe he can explain, at that debate, how he denies coverage for life saving drugs while he personally makes billions.

same opportunity private companies had with Medicare, govt doesn't build massive infrastructure, contracts it all out to private insurers

which is why #singlepayer #medicare4All should not allow non-govt 4profit entities 2 B contracted! Always costs more than fed employees

it does not always cost more, Medicare facts show that, bigger issue is the inability of gov't to build cost effective infrastructure

I've worked with gov contracts w private entities in hlth coverage. my exp is they bid low, end up costing way more down a short road.

I'm not saying all, I'm speaking of Medicare where I have extensive experience, plus the single payer proposals use private processors

Aetna (& other big insurers) make lots of $$ from Medigap & Medicare Advantage. Medicare 4 All would get their buy-in instead of new program
