Musk’s recent suspensions have confirmed what we already know – he has not now or ever supported free speech. He only feels the need to act when something impacts him directly, and he will silence anyone who criticizes him, including prominent journalists.

When so-called “freedom of speech” comes with arbitrary stipulations on what journalists can and can’t write, it is the furthest thing from free speech.

The index also discovered that for the second year in a row, of the 28 LGBTQ characters counted, ZERO LGBTQ characters were living with a disability or with HIV. It is critical that film studios are not only telling our stories, but telling them thoroughly and accurately.

The 10th annual Studio Responsibility Index shows that we still have a long way to go to increase LGBTQ representation in film. That means including characters who represent our diverse community on screen and NOT donating to anti-LGBTQ politicians off-screen.

Our stories are our superpower. The #LGBTQ community is facing unprecedented attacks, and representation in film is a critical tool in our fight against anti-LGBTQ hate. If you claim to support our community then you have to stand up for us. 🧵

A patchwork of protections for #LGBTQ people across the country is not sufficient- we need Congress to codify federal nondiscrimination protections by passing the Equality Act. Thanks to for having me on to talk about the #RFMA signing and the fight ahead.

Thank you so much for inviting me to participate today's hearing. The horrific attack at Club Q is a symptom of a larger epidemic: a culture of anti-LGBTQ rhetoric & violence from politicians & political extremists. If you missed me live: youtu.be/G9L2ixWjH9Y

This is what happens when anti-LGBTQ politicians lead with fear, division and hate. These senseless book bans are depriving our youth of opportunities to learn – and now, threatening to deprive a community of its library.

This is the children's section in Patmos Library in Jamestown, Michigan. Local citizens voted to defund it in Nov, after it refused to ban all LGBTQ+ books. Now a local politician has suggested shutting down the library "by force." bridgemi.com/michigan-gover

Pronouns are an issue and matter of identity and acceptance. Non-binary people want to be seen and heard. When you diminish and demean that space for them, what does that make you? Why is it so hard to meet and learn about people who have different experiences than ours?
Quote Tweet
Replying to @StationCDRKelly
I strongly disagree. Forcing your pronouns upon others when they didn’t ask, and implicitly ostracizing those who don’t, is neither good nor kind to anyone. As for Fauci, he lied to Congress and funded gain-of-function research that killed millions of people. Not awesome imo.

While this is just one of many steps needed to protect LGBTQ people at the federal level, the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act means that countless families across the country are no longer at the mercy of a hostile Supreme Court.

The House passed protections for same-sex and interracial marriage in bipartisan fashion today, just as the Senate did last week. The bill will go to President Biden’s desk to sign next. @alivitali spoke with one Michigan couple on what this means to them.

. breaks it down: it is unfair and un-American to ask families with trans kids to uproot their entire lives. It’s past time for our leaders to take a stand against anti-trans hate, and to make sure ALL kids are safe and protected.

This legislation will safeguard much-needed protections for millions of couples who are baselessly vulnerable in today's hostile political climate at the state level and in the courts. Congress must use this momentum to keep expanding LGBTQ protections and freedoms.
