Jordan Peterson is what happens when internet men confuse Game of Thrones (HBO, because they don't read) with reality https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/18/style/jordan-peterson-12-rules-for-life.html …pic.twitter.com/TqZcAlkw2w

think about how jordan peterson has been on this "DRAGONS OF CHAOS" kick since at least 1999 and no one has embarrassed him out of it
Yeah, the original Greek is likely “worm”
If dragons aren't real, how could both Kanye and POTUS have dragon energy?pic.twitter.com/z3xDwaVCCO
hey @fadeaccompli ? SCIENCE and people trolling Jordan Peterson need you. Bad translation? Real?
The word used is δράκων, which is used interchangeably with ὄφις, either of which can mean 'snake'. Among other things. You can point at a python or a dragon and say "ὁ δράκων!" in both cases.
(Which would have taken less time to track down if people would cite their sources thoroughly. Aristotle says a lot of stuff!)
If anyone wants to double-check, it's 609a, line 5, in History of Animals. Loeb renders it as 'dragon-snake' with a terse footnote calling the specific animal 'unidentified'.
By the time of Pliny the Elder the understanding of the natural world has evolved and elephants rather than eagles were thought to be the mortal enemies of dragons.
