Jordan Peterson is what happens when internet men confuse Game of Thrones (HBO, because they don't read) with reality https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/18/style/jordan-peterson-12-rules-for-life.html …pic.twitter.com/TqZcAlkw2w

If you are constantly cherry-picking examples and moving the goalposts to support your contention that the status quo is just, then you are not actually a thinker
Okay I do have to qualify one thing I said, I said "Literally everything" falls into the same category of error, but the dragon thing doesn't, because like dragons wut
Right, it's some kind of a bizarre attempt at using Jung to theorize natural law, except he's failing wildly at sketching out either, to the point where I hesitate to say he's even tryinghttps://twitter.com/Roderikrolf/status/997520496324378624 …
no one is forcing you to self roast this hard on a public websitehttps://twitter.com/Eric_Dykstra/status/997521542450839554 …
My dude, how is Peterson useful for anything if you've taken half a semester of liberal arts classes? Aristotle is more coherent and even more astoundingly, less sexisthttps://twitter.com/StubbornLights/status/997522766059528192 …
I can't believe I'm now googling whether aristotle believed in dragons
In other news, @ethanchiel has finally settled the question of whether Aristotle believed in dragons*pic.twitter.com/D5QEp2X3n3
wowe im sure the world is missing out https://twitter.com/alhutaleazim/status/997551513617580032 …
My mentions are jordan_peterson_fans.txt right now and I'm not even mad because it's just a parade of self-roasts
i'm still not over the guy who thinks my Twitter name refutes my criticism of Peterson
i thought no one could own jordan peterson harder than jordan peterson but actually his fans are doing it harder

I never got deep enough into this piece from March to see this chart from Peterson's book https://www.currentaffairs.org/2018/03/the-intellectual-we-deserve …pic.twitter.com/NFghRAsJtm
think about how jordan peterson has been on this "DRAGONS OF CHAOS" kick since at least 1999 and no one has embarrassed him out of it
I would dislike JBP if the only things I knew about him were from hit pieces that try to discredit him, too. I find his lectures thought-provoking, and his work in personality and psychology is widely cited and very useful. News is by definition transient, read books instead.
I can understand parts of JBP are useful. However, there's so much baggage that comes with that you're better off not looking to him as guru. She's right in that a lot of his logic is confusing prescriptive/descriptive. See also: naturalistic fallacy or is/ought problem.
I’m not a fanboy of JBP, but I found his Maps of Meaning course interesting, and he has some useful ideas. I don’t really care about “baggage” since I don’t keep up with random drama or whatever. I don’t need to be an expert on every author I’ve ever read.
Defending JP and disclaiming deep knowledge of his positions and rhetoric don't fit well together. Good for you that he added value to your life. He's still making money telling folk what they want to hear, without regard to whether what he says is true.
I haven’t found anything in his lectures or books offensive, and I don’t really care if he’s making good money doing it. As far as I know he releases all of his lectures for free.
His propensity towards violence worries me. He states Marxism should result in an automatic punch in the nose, tells critics he'd "slap [them] happily".
These sound like sound bites from interviews or something, and I can’t judge them without context. Like I said, I’m interested in his research and lectures and don’t really care about the media circus or gotcha quotes.
...Alright, apparently he's serious about the enforced monogamy thing as I read this article. That's pretty much state enforced arranged marriages, and quite possibly much worse consider he's discussing "sexual inequality". That's vile.
