Owning a Yamaha piano doesn't make a Yamaha motorcycle more useful. Graham's questioning is on point. Nothing like Facebook has ever existed before. https://twitter.com/OneAcmeMan/status/983807453455249408 …
He had some good points in there -- but I don't think he understands that there's multiple products, being used for multiple reasons, that Facebook (the company) owns. (Aka Ford sells cars... but Samsung sells more than just phones...)
That’s true but Samsung has competitors for all its different products and for the concept of its company too. Facebook has not - i think he’s suggesting it’s a monopoly.
Oh, he’s 100% leaning into “Facebook is a monopoly” in the question, and it’s a legitimate question. But is comparison to Ford was odd
I don't think it was odd. He knows that a lot of people are watching this (as much as I don't like him, he is a seasoned politician), so he's making it so everyone can understand and so they can clearly see that Zuckerberg is avoiding obvious questions/answers.
I think I hate Graham that much more because he *does* ask good questions, then does nothing with the info and votes with the party anyway.
What makes me maddest about it is how good Graham is at asking questions and playing tough, then folding like a lawn chair when it comes to acting on his bravado.
Then he went off the rails asking Zuck to write his own regulators, tho
Cantwell!!!
this is worse than hoping the FBI does a good job of something
and it's a great line of questioning. fukced up
it’s a dumb question anyone can answer. But the ceo of coke ain’t gonna tell customers to buy Pepsi.
yeah, this is the most on-topic line of questioning so far.
You can arguably suggest that Friendster and MySpace had a product scope that more directly overlapped with Facebook's until the former's demise and the latter's pivot, but it'd be a technicality. Graham's insinuation that Facebook's *effectively* a monopoly is valid.
