fun fact: korea was under japanese occupation when the league of nations was formed. both korea and ireland submitted applications to be considered independent nations at the same time!

I saw a museum plaque on a Japanese pot once that talked about how Japanese pottery techniques were "inspired by Korean techniques" or some such and anyways now I'm banned from the Portland Art Museum
