Reddit is where the Twitter outrage mobs are organized, dude. Often via YouTube call to actions.

I think the difference is, you can gin up outrage anywhere. But on Twitter you can attack people directly, while if your mob is confined to Reddit our YouTube all you can do is call their employer and try to get them fired or something like that. Right?
-
None of this stuff is contained on one platform, peak online harassment or even disinformation campaigns will cross multiple platforms. There's no "on Twitter, you can do x" versus "on Reddit you can only do y." People are using both simultaneously in service of the same goal.
-
I mean...any platform, or combination of platforms, provides angry people a way to get together and whip up each other's anger. But Twitter provides a way to attack someone in person, without having to call their employer or whatever.
-
When I'm at a peak of harassment I also get emails, attempts at hacking, financial fraud, phone calls. Twitter is just where other people can see what's going on.
-
Sure, the barrier to entry is much lower on Twitter, and the easy linkability and engagement-driven affordances of the platform don't help but given the inter-platform dynamics at play I don't think this marks Twitter as an outlier re: harassment

That's fair.
