why doesn't anyone understand that blockchains are "unforgeable" insofar as the data that's encoded in a blockchain signifies nothing more than the data itself (e.g. numbers shuffling in a ledger) and that the moment it corresponds to something IRL many problems arise
Afficher cette discussion -
oh wait actually many people understand this AND FOR SOME REASON WE ARE PRETENDING IT ISN'T REAL

90% of these "solutions" are just going to be another garbage in garbage out situation, just tracked on a decentralized ledger that may or may not be irreversible depending on which direction you've gone in

oh good I always needed a peer-to-peer network to preserve some erroneously entered information that either has no oversight or is overseen by a centralized authority that makes the entire point of a blockchain superfluous

Not to add to your fury, but I took this in a FoodSmart in Chicago's Logan Square. It has two locations & is somewhere between a bodega and supermarket (this one also has a laundromat). Note the placement next to the rack of rarely sold puzzle books.pic.twitter.com/9PChrCDEHK

Someone recently suggested to me that bitcoin isn’t used for anything that sovereign currency can’t already do and I was like “no no no ransomware wouldn’t be possible without bitcoin, it definitely innovated that”

I feel like SV is a hair's breadth from being willing to fund this...

But "ransomware" is such a harsh term. Couldn't we pitch it as "decentralised bug bounty on the blockchain"?

Podcast idea: "Why X doesn't need the blockchain." Each episode just goes through a bunch of ICOs in a given industry and explains why they dont make sense.

I think
is a good idea! Every white paper is proved to be MORE or LESS Optimal using blockchain. #crowdsource at its best!

Someone just showed me "Cryptokitties but with celebrities" and I think I'm no longer interested in cryptocurrency.
