Flo Kennedy in Born in Flames looks like she's been outfitted by a brilliant costume designer, but actually those are just her IRL clothes

Like you can watch that film and not know who Flo Kennedy is and just think, "Wow that one character is so cool, who's that actress"
-
But it's just Flo Kennedy pretending to be Flo Kennedy, but in a futuristic dystopian New York. How cool is that?
-
I'm terrified that a remake of Born in Flames would be a horrible co-opted mess but also I really wish there were a remake
-
I'd be down to see a Lizzie Borden directed remake. But after hearing her talk about making the movie it just can't be redone, I'd say.
-
I think it wouldn't be quite the same but the lessons and themes are so important and deserve to reiterate

One of the best parts of the film! (Though there are SO MANY good parts.)
-
It's so astoundingly good

Have you seen http://www.brownstargirl.org/blog/stay-ready-the-amc-2013-born-in-flames-strategic-geekout-reportback …? We need more Born In Flames influence in our activism & organizing these days, I'd say. :)

Haven't seen this! I saw a Q&A with the director some months back and it blew my mind. I agree that we should take more inspiration from it
-
Haha, was that in SF? I think I just tweeted at you about being there too. :)
-
Yep, that was the one! We were both there at the Roxie I guess
-
Indeed! So glad I made it there. :)
