The only way I can make sense of Twitter's awful record on harassment is that beefing up enforcement is $$$ enough to affect quarterlies
-
-
which, like, is a fixable problem
-
Yeah, at this point we have enough evidence (like how they fail to act on deleted tweets) to support tools issues for sure
-
I'm confident some scripts using available APIs, and simple algos could clear out most the abusers and spam bots, NP.
-
I'm also confident by doing so it would cut the # of active accounts considerably, which is prob why they don't.

This. Thanks have personally had reports re-reviewed with different results. Mods apparently can't use search (?!)
-
AFAIK, mods can't even view deleted tweets.
-
that's what I am getting from my reports too
-
Moderation black holes are sadly common and bad actors are getting pretty good at finding and exploiting them :/
-
A super vile YouTube video stayed up for month+ because moderators weren't shown the annotations, for example :(

also, Twitter has a hard time understanding their scale.
-
also, Product probably feels like "how are a bunch of right-wing harasser users my problem and not Support's?"
-
and we can all guess Support probably has more than one alt-right bro in their number and isn't big enough.
