<voiceover> Last week, on Oracle v. Google
-
-
If Oracle asks Google's witnesses then of course Google is going to ask Oracle's, looks like they're at a detente over this. Alsup not happy
-
Alsup speculated that at this point, the amount is in millions, and that affects credibility in front of the juryhttps://twitter.com/gortok/status/732221312253476864 …
-
I think he's just super pissed with the extravagant nature of this litigation,
-
which has caused him to get reversed on something he still believes he was correct on
-
Alsup really wants to disclose to the jury that there was a previous trial, BOTH Oracle and Google are resisting.
-
Google said jury won't listen if judge says they can't consider xyz, Oracle says that they can't come up with nonprejudicial wording
-
Jury is now seated.

Why does it matter how much they're being paid for their time?
-
Juries (as opposed to judges) easily come to resent & distrust expert witnesses who they learn are extravagantly paid
