Ellison on video is being questioned about an email of his. He is very unhappy in this video, weary sighing.
-
"best way to increase revenue is to build a mobile phone applications suite on top of JavaFx which will make iPhone a direct competitor"
-
Email that Larry Ellison wrote.
-
(paraphrase)
-
Ellison: We never made an effort to enter the smartphone market.
-
Ellison: We analyzed the likelihood of success…. we could not enter the smartphone market.
-
Google: Was there ever a document that said a factor for why you couldn’t enter the smartphone market was Android?
-
Ellison: I have not seen a document that says that. Gets flustered, said it was his decision, that he made the analysis.
-
Google: Has Java revenue increased since you acquired Sun? (It did)
-
Google: Do you know why it’s increased? Ellison: *stammers, INCREDIBLY flustered*

Now we're having a readback of a 2015 depo of John Duimovich, who worked at IBM.
-
Duimovich is testifying on behalf of IBM. He's a Java CTO.
-
Duimovich is explaining that IBM's implementation of Java uses Apache Harmony (a free, unlicensed implementation of Java).
-
The IBM Java SE SDK uses Apache Harmony, and IBM products that use the IBM SE SDK include: Lotus Notes, IBM Commerce.
-
Duimovich: "There’s lots and lots of products."
-
About ten API packages from Apache Harmony are used in IBM Java 6.
-
IBM meets with Sun/Oracle regularly about Java.
-
IBM also contributes core classes to Apache Harmony. Sun/Oracle has never brought up Apache Harmony in these meetings.
-
Here's a stipulation that's just been read to the jury:pic.twitter.com/dQEKwwL43M
-
Rest of the stipulation defines packages, classes, and methods, and declaring code. Was not able to write it down verbatim.
