LRT: I want to repeat that there isn't a good reason to conclude that the attack didn't happen at the fraternity.
There isn't really anything that you can *conclude* isn't true, except details like the attackers being pledges & members.

How do you pick up on that while being assaulted?! How do you conclude it was an initiation ceremony while being raped?

That's all stuff your memory's going to add later, as you try to talk it out with your friends, as you try to identify who was there.

When I was in college, I got confused about who was at which frat or sorority, and who was just a close friend of members.

I'd go to events and not know whether they were "official." I'd tag along and not even know what frat I was at.

The way I could clear that up later would be to ask the person I went there with. But obviously the victim here couldn't have done that!
