@freebsdgirl reporting offline violence or threats is impossible or close to impossible if you belong to certain marginalized groups

@freebsdgirl even if you're able to report, it's difficult to procure relief in the form of restraining orders

@freebsdgirl in the criminal system, prosecutors can decline to pursue your case / civil suits are difficult to mount

@sarahjeong why wouldn't they pursue the case? not enough evidence? not enough time? or just plain prejudice/bias?
