@sarahjeong so, speaking from my own experience, online harassment seems difficult to deal with because of the channels for reporting it

@sarahjeong when i had a legitimate concern, the person targeting me was across state lines. local PD told me to contact the FBI.

@sarahjeong but the FBI had me fill out an online form with no way to track it, no idea if they were doing anything, no contact whatsoever.

@sarahjeong basically "here is a webpage, now go away."

@freebsdgirl The apathy / friction in the system isn't unique to online harassment --

@freebsdgirl reporting offline violence or threats is impossible or close to impossible if you belong to certain marginalized groups

@freebsdgirl even if you're able to report, it's difficult to procure relief in the form of restraining orders
