@sarahjeong that's really good. how do you think this is going to play out? i mean, how can we push for change on a legal standpoint? -
@freebsdgirl It could play out in a really bad way-- basically a vehicle for restrictive internet regulation that doesn't really help -
@freebsdgirl *ideally*, there would be a widespread change that sweeps up not just online harassment but gendered violence in general -
@sarahjeong so, speaking from my own experience, online harassment seems difficult to deal with because of the channels for reporting it -
@sarahjeong when i had a legitimate concern, the person targeting me was across state lines. local PD told me to contact the FBI. -
@sarahjeong but the FBI had me fill out an online form with no way to track it, no idea if they were doing anything, no contact whatsoever. -
