Sarah attacked my hiring at The Undefeated. She never got the chance to see how many of my values, social conscience dovetailed her own. She just saw me as some old white dude at ESPN's new "black site." When I tried to have a discussion with her, she blocked me. I wish her luck.

We've all been guilty of using this space as a weapon rather than a tool for authentic connection and discussion. I've blocked people for telling me I shouldn't be against Washington's NFL name, that it honors Native Americans. Which is complete B.S. But I hate being labeled.

I think the views of Native Americans on that are mixed. I would not care if it was changed, but I'm pretty much through with the NFL anyway. I'll watch college football depending on the teams and Miami Hurricanes whenever I can.

I'm with you on NFL. On name change, yeah, I'm sure a chunk of Native Americans are OK with it -- just like a chunk of AFrican Americans are okay with the n-bomb now as long as it ends with --gga. I just don't think anyone would name a team today after a dictionary-defined slur.
