@sarahjeong It’s not even a free speech issue. Twitter is a private space, and having access is a privilege, not a right.

@sanspoint 1) Twitter has billed itself as the "free speech wing of the free speech party" for ages. Particularly as an activist tool.

@sanspoint 2) This new tool is unprecedented in how it works. And it's only been deployed for VIPs.

@sanspoint 3) This is obviously not a good mass solution, because it becomes comically overbroad when applied universally.

@sarahjeong Good article about the issues. I feel mixed on this one, but I don't face harassment. Where would you strike the balance?

@bond_alexander I think this is a really shitty tool to address harassment. It would be comical to replicate it on a universal scale.

@bond_alexander The "free speech" issue here isn't the belief that harassment should not be removed, it's that the tool itself is Bad News.
