Question to IP / copylefty folks: how do you feel about the formulation "stealing nudes" for misappropriated private photos

@sarahjeong As a rule of thumb, "stealing" is always troubling, and obviously inaccurate unless the owner lost access to them. -
@sarahjeong What is robbed in such cases is the ability to control who sees what. It's a robbery of privacy, not a robbery of pictures. -
@vruz right. There's an urge to connote what happens in these cases as an existing, acknowledged crime. & the language here is tricky -
@vruz like "leak" is a terrible term for example -
@sarahjeong In spanish, the translation for 'leak' is 'filtración' (filtration). Maybe loan words can come to the rescue.
