I didn't think the piece was so bad but it makes me uneasy when conversations about AAPIs/diversity get caught up in "where are the Asians?"

@nicolecallahan agree. Criticism of the TIME piece here is too harsh imo though. And you know how I felt about it1 réponse 0 Retweet 1 j'aime -

@sarahjeong yeah, I feel kinda bad for Linshi tbh, but there were a lot of good points in Hing's response.1 réponse 0 Retweet 0 j'aime -

@nicolecallahan my head would explode if a TIME piece tackled how the model minority myth perpetuates white supremacy against black people1 réponse 0 Retweet 3 j'aime -

@sarahjeong mine too, but I also think it's not great to call for Asians to be included in diversity conversations WITHOUT making that point1 réponse 0 Retweet 2 j'aime -

@nicolecallahan it's not great but there's a serious resistance to talking about white supremacy anywhere, not unique to stories about API2 réponses 0 Retweet 1 j'aime
@nicolecallahan i guess that still leaves the TIME piece open to valid critique tho- just bc it's industry standard doesn't make it okay
